John Fleming, APR

John Fleming is the president and founder of The Fleming Agency Inc., a public relations consulting and services firm providing strategic counsel to meet the objectives of business, nonprofit and governmental leaders. The agency is based in Tallahassee, Florida, and specializes in public relations, media relations, public affairs, corporate communications and grassroots advocacy.

After beginning a career as an investigative journalist, John left the newspaper industry in 2002 to work for one of the state capital’s leading public relations firms. Working alongside Florida’s top elected officials, advocacy organizations and media outlets, he developed his applied knowledge of public relations during two statewide amendment campaigns and more than six years experience managing external communications for corporate and nonprofit clients.

John’s practical experience in public relations includes strategic planning, crisis communications, public opinion research, message and brand development, and creative production for Internet, TV, print and radio. His work on local, state and federal issues has included retail trade, economic development, tax policy, growth management, water policy, tobacco control, beverage law, civil justice, and outdoor advertising.

An active community volunteer, John serves on the Executive Committee of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Directors of Turn About Inc., and is a member of Leadership Tallahassee Class 26. He is accredited in public relations by the Universal Accreditation Board.

A Florida native and University of Florida graduate, John is married to Allie Merzer Fleming and is a new father.
